Journal Archives

When I was a kid in high school and college I loved the programming magazines of the time. I was just getting familiar with Unix systems, and hacking around on the campus AIX and Solaris systems. Sometime during my freshman year I discovered Linux and installed Slackware on a hard drive partition and have been hooked ever since.

I came across this DVD archive of several programming magazines from the time and I felt a need to preserve them here for posterity. Inside you can find:

I also have a compilation of some of the Outstanding Investor Digest magazines. OID was an outstanding publication from the 1990s and early 2000s that had incredible interview with really sharp value investors. It’s a great resource for those who are curious about finance, investing and valuation.

I would love to archive more publications and newsletters like this that deal with either technology, music or finance during the early days of the internet. Some of the defunct publications that I would love to get complete archives of are:

  • Phrack

  • Byte

  • Boardwatch

  • Nintendo Power

  • Mondo2000

  • Maximum Rock N Roll (MRR)
