ToutVirtual Announces VirtualIQ Pro for Virtualization Performance Management, Capacity Planning, and Web-Based Reporting
ToutVirtual announced the availability of several VirtualIQ Pro products. VirtualIQ Pro is a virtualization management solution for IT managers looking to go beyond virtualization configuration tools and ready to take a proactive stance to managing their virtual infrastructure, regardless of virtualization platform or scale. The ToutVirtual VirtualIQ Pro products enable real-time monitoring, host and virtual machine performance management, capacity planning, and faster root-cause analysis. ActiveState Releases Tcl Dev Kit 4.0
ActiveState released Tcl Dev Kit (TDK) 4.0, the multi-platform toolkit for creating and deploying professional Tcl applications. TDK provides tools for building self-contained, installation-free executables to Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, Solaris, AIX and HP-UX. The feature set also includes a graphical debugger, profiling and analysis tools for code optimization, a pre-compiler to obfuscate source code, and a service manager for converting Tcl programs to Windows services. TDK 4.0 introduces support for Mac OS X and Solaris x86, providing new users with tools for bundling Tcl source code and extensions into executables, starkits, or starpacks. The release also features enhanced support for TEA (Tcl Extension Archive) Package Management, with a complete suite of tools for creating, exporting, managing, and using Tcl extensions. Secure Computing Releases SMB Network Security Appliance
Secure Computing Corporation announced the release of SnapGear with TrustedSource, a new version of its all-in-one Internet appliance for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and remote offices.
According to the company, the new version of SnapGear delivers enhanced VoIP capabilities, VPN offloading, connection tracking snapshots, increased performance, and the ability to deliver customized local-language versions. Many of these new features are directly aimed at reducing the costs associated with growing and securing SMB networks. A 6-month trial license for SnapGear with TrustedSource is currently available at no additional cost. Unisys Delivers Models of ClearPath Mainframes Based on Intel Processors
Unisys Corporation introduced the first models of its next-generation ClearPath family of mainframe-class enterprise servers based on multi-core Intel Xeon processors.
According to the company, the new models are the first major milestone in Unisys's previously announced plans to deliver a common platform architecture, leveraging advanced Intel processor technology, for all Unisys enterprise servers.
The new ClearPath Dorado Model 400 and Libra Model 400 series support advanced releases of the Unisys OS 2200 and MCP operating environments, respectively.
