KACE announced its new KBOX 1000 Series Systems
Management Appliances, a line of IT Automation appliances that allow
management of laptops, desktops, servers, and other network devices across
several operating systems. According to the company, the new KBOX 1000
Series expands its management capabilities from Windows to Linux (Red Hat)
and Mac OS X. The KBOX 1000 Series is a line of appliances that provides

Trusted Computer Solutions and IBM Unveil TCS SecureOffice
Trusted Computer Solutions, Inc. announced, in
partnership with IBM, the launch of the TCS SecureOffice suite of
cross-domain guards based on Linux. According to the announcement, the
guards are the first commercially available cross-domain guards running on
Linux that incorporate the trusted functionality at the operating system

SGI Announces SGI ProPack 5
SGI unveiled SGI ProPack 5 for Linux, the latest
version of its software supplement that boosts the capabilities and
performance of Linux on Linux servers. According to the company, SGI
ProPack 5 brings new capabilities to SGI Altix 4700 and 450 systems running
on Intel Itanium 2 processors, while simplifying the deployment and
administration of SGI Altix XE clusters built around Dual-Core Intel Xeon
processors. SGI ProPack 5 will be offered as an optional enhancement to
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 from Novell.

Beyond Security announced the latest version of its
security analysis solution, beSTORM 2.0. According to the company, the new
version introduces the 80/20 rule for "smart" blackbox testing,
which enables faster testing by focusing first on known vulnerability
patterns before searching for unknown problems. beSTORM 2.0 starts by
checking a relatively small number of scenarios that are known to be
problematic. After checking known attack combinations, beSTORM can then
start testing for all other SIP implementation combinations.

Sun Releases New Solutions
Sun Microsystems, Inc. announced two new solutions to
help customers protect their information at multiple points in the data
lifecycle. According to the company, Sun is introducing device-level tape
encryption with key management on the Sun StorageTek T10000 tape drive and
its first virtual tape library solution to run on the Solaris 10 Operating
System (OS). The new products capitalize on Sun's network

Sun Ultra Workstations, to deliver enhanced tape security and
