Sidebar: Modem Compatibility

My final installation used the Hayes Accura 28.8 modem. Initially, I used another 28.8 modem (a Hayes compatible) but ran into a lot of connection problems. After playing around with several cheaper brands, I found the Hayes modem worked best with my configuration. One thing is certain: in my case "compatible" does not mean "equal."
