Last month, I wrote about how I was "cyberslammed," a word I coined to represent a practice wherein a nefarious company surreptitiously added charges to my telephone bill for Internet services I didn't want, never used, and didn't know I was getting. On Saint Patrick's Day, the TV news magazine program 20/20 reported about the practice. Turns out they already have a name for it -- I was "crammed." Well, that is fitting, because that's exactly how it felt. It is also what the company who crammed me and all the others like them can do with their unwanted services and their slimy marketing practices, which, according to 20/20, are now being investigated by several states around the country.
