Gepsoft.com Announces GEP Symbolic Regression
Gepsoft.com has released GEP Symbolic Regression (GEP-SR), an AI component based on gene expression programming (GEP). GEP is a new learning algorithm that outperforms Genetic Programming in 2-4 orders of magnitude. GEP-SR is a COM component developed with the ATL framework. No prior knowledge of evolutionary computation is assumed and the complexity is hidden behind a programmer friendly interface. The sample code and application by themselves are enough to start using GEP-SR without any coding. The documentation includes a detailed description of the source code and the techniques used.

The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), Inc. has released the NAG C Library, Mark 6, a toolbox of 450 mathematical and statistical algorithms for adding analytical capabilities to applications. Sun Microsystems, Inc. has released Forte Developer 6 update 1, an integrated set of development and productivity tools designed for building enterprise applications. Forte Developer 6 update 1 allows developers to improve runtime performance of their applications with specific tuning for the UltraSPARC III architecture.
Formerly known as Sun WorkShop Tools, Forte Developer 6 update 1 products include the high-performance Forte C, C++, and Fortran tools. LEAD Technologies Releases Internet Imaging Pro
LEAD Technologies, Inc. has released LEADTOOLS Internet Imaging Pro, a toolkit that provides the comprehensive imaging functionality found in LEADTOOLS Raster Imaging Pro, but with a COM interface. Metagraphics Launches TypeServer
Metagraphics Software Corporation has released TypeServer, a TrueType rasterizing engine for use in real-time and embedded OEM applications. Using industry-standard TrueType fonts, TypeServer creates typeset-quality bitmap text using Metagraphics CrystalType technology. CrystalType performs optimized font rasterization for monochrome, anti-alias grayscale, anti-alias color, or LCD display output.
TypeServer supports both ASCII and UNICODE character coding. It works with TrueType fonts stored either on disk, in memory, or in ROM. TypeServer is written in pure ANSI C and includes class libraries for use with C++.

Micro Digital, Inc. has announced pmDOS, a replacement for DOS and DOS extenders. pmDOS has been developed for embedded applications that have outgrown the limitations of DOS. Crossware Adds Support to 8051 Development Suite
Crossware has added support to its 8051 Development Suite for the mixed-signal microcontrollers from Cygnal Integrated Products. The microcontrollers include flash memory, analog, and digital devices, as well as the normal 8051 on-chip peripherals.
The enhanced Crossware environment includes cycle-accurate simulation of the Cygnal high-speed core, so developers can determine the speed increase that can be achieved by moving to a Cygnal chip.
