PtS Plc Announces VTune 4.0 Performance Enhancement Environment

M Squared Technologies Releases Resource Standard Metrics v4

M Squared Technologies has announced Resource Standard Metrics (RSM) v4, a source-code metrics and quality analysis tool for C, ANSI C, and Java for use on Windows 95/98/NT and Unix operating systems. RSM performs source-code metrics for lines of code, comment percentage, keywords and constructs, logical and interface functional complexity, and class metrics. Additionally, RSM performs metrics on the function, class, file, project, and code tree. RSM can also run lines of code metrics between two date-dependent code baselines yielding lines of code and file differentials.

Scientific Software Tools Unveils LabOBJX Gauge

Symantec Ships VisualCafé Enterprise Suite

Symantec Corporation has announced VisualCafé Enterprise Suite, an IDE for the creation of distributed Java technology-based applications. VisualCafé Enterprise Suite automates tasks such as configuring applications for interoperability across different platforms, including multiple application servers.

New in VisualCafé Enterprise Suite is Symantec's Single-View technology. Single-View maintains a single image of the distributed development environment, masking the complexities of a multi-platform computing environment.

VisualCafé Enterprise Suite employs wizards that simplify the development of client and server objects. A client-adapter wizard streamlines the creation of software that communicates with a remote object, based on either CORBA or RMI server objects.

HexaTech Releases ViewPro v4.0

HexaTech has announced ViewPro v4.0 ActiveX, a report generator, print engine, and print-preview control. Version 4.0 provides the ability to place tables, graphs, pictures, and drawings onto text report pages, which can be imported or exported as WMF metafiles. It supports RTF rich text and RTF tables. It also allows the user to visually design a report template at design time and fill out the template at run time.

Boulder Software Foundry Introduces FLASHPOINT Application Server Technology

Boulder Software Foundry, Inc. has released FLASHPOINT Application Server Technology, a web application server that allows C++ applications to generate HTML pages as output to web browsers. FLASHPOINT replaces CGI with a development environment that requires no extra proprietary tools, so developers can use the database and development tools already available for C++.

FLASHPOINT functions as both the web server and the application server. It manages sessions that are persistent across a series of connections, incorporates 128-bit secure socket layer security, and automatically synchronizes web content with business rules. It supports client-side Java Script/JAVA.

Applied Microsystems Announces PowerTAP MPC8260 for PowerQUICC II

Applied Microsystems Corporation has announced PowerTAP MPC8260 for PowerQUICC II, a development environment for the PowerQUICC II high-end processor that includes the PowerTAP MPC8260 emulator, the CodeWarrior and MWX-ICE IDEs, and the Tektronix TLA700 Series Logic Analyzer with PowerQUICC II support.

PowerTAP combines a palm-sized, portable form factor with debug functionality furnishing visibility into system-level operations. The combination of AMC's and Tektronix's debugging tools provides both software and hardware debugging capabilities. Micro Digital has announced WinBase Plus, a set of tools for developing proof-of-concept demos for embedded systems. WinBase Plus contains Windows versions of four Micro Digital products: WinBase, smx, smx++, and PEG (Portable Embedded GUI).

Honeywell Offers DoME under GNU Open Source-Code License

Honeywell has released DoME (domain modeling environment), a CASE-type tool, under a GNU open source-code license. Honeywell developed DoME to facilitate production of high-quality software for critical applications. FairCom Announces FairCom ODBC Driver v3.8

FairCom Corporation has released the FairCom ODBC Driver v3.8 in both 16- and 32-bit versions. Both drivers support full read/write capabilities, enhanced file opening and closing, and increased stability. The ODBC standard from Microsoft allows connectivity between c-tree Plus or FairCom Server data files while using ODBC-compliant applications, such as Microsoft Access, Crystal Report Writer, and PowerBuilder.
