DataViews Unveils DataViews 9.9
DataViews Corporation has announced DataViews 9.9, a set of tools for building real-time animated graphical interfaces. Enhancements in Dataviews 9.9 include a full set of standard Windows controls that function with DataViews graphics, automatic code generation of C++ code for DataViews graphics, and integration with Visual C++ Developer Studio for MFC application development.
Within DataViews 9.9, native Windows controls can be used and are accessible on a toolbar in DV-Draw, the DataViews point-and-click editor. Windows controls can be inserted directly into DV-Draw's workspace. After insertion, they are fully configurable and accommodate either fixed or scaleable dimensions.

Sylvan Ascent Releases SylvanMaps/OCX-3
Sylvan Ascent, Inc. has released SylvanMaps/OCX-3, which features support for ADO, a new caching system, geo-referenced raster images, on-the-fly projection conversion, and file translations.
SylvanMaps/OCX-3 allows the use of ADO to access data sources in addition to ODBC. Layers can be converted from ODBC to ADO by changing property types. 4Developers Launches COM Explorer 1.0
4Developers has announced COM Explorer, a tool to enable developers to view, manage, and repair ActiveX controls, COM files, DLL servers, and EXE servers using an Explorer-like interface. The software provides a centralized view of COM objects, as well as detailed information such as GUID, TypeLib, version, and file information. Unwanted objects, such as objects with missing files left as junk in the registry, are clearly marked.
An integrated Registry editor provides the ability to view and edit COM settings using a pop-up menu. An inventory report generator creates HTML or comma-delimited text reports that include a list of the COM objects installed. The report generator includes filtering and customization options.
